The landscape and colorful port neighborhood of La Boca makes it one of the most spectacular places in Buenos Aires. Its unique building characteristics and habits, reflect the strong influence of Europeans, mainly Italians of Genovese origin, who settled here during the great immigration wave into Argentina in the period between 1860 to 1910. “La Piccola Italia” as it is also called, is imbued with a Mediterranean style, from its cuisine, which is offered in canteens unmistakably in traditional Italian style and architecture. The street name was inspired by the famous tango called "Caminito" written in 1926 by Gabino Coria Peñaloza and Juan de Dios Filiberto.
