RECOLETA
Some people say this district presents a Parisian atmosphere. It has developed a cultural life of its own, with large spaces devoted to art. The variety of restaurants, pubs and nightclubs are concentrated along the streets surrounding the world-famous Recoleta Cemetery (Junin and Vicente Lopez Azcuénaga) another detail that lends to its special characteristics. During the weekends, a craft fair and free entertainment shows ranging from musicals to plays unfolds there.
Recoleta Cemetery is the oldest and most aristocratic cemetery in the city. In its almost six hectares are buried heroes of Independence, presidents, soldiers, scientists, artists and celebrities.
